WhatsApp is the mostly used mobile application for messaging along with Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service and video call facilities. The release of WhatsApp Business in 2018 was made to target small businesses with added facilities to personally connect customers while serving with various products or services. At the latest, the application has updated with an 'Add to Cart' option wherein users can directly place an order while browsing through the various products of a particular business account.
Easing out the buying option for customers enhances the user experience for shopping online just as the ecommerce websites. As per the statement by WhatsApp, on the new added feature,
We're excited to bring carts to WhatsApp. Carts are great when messaging businesses that typically sell multiple items at once, like a local restaurant or clothing store. With carts, people can browse a catalogue, select multiple products, and send the order as one message to the business.
People using Whatsapp Messaging application can use the 'Message Business' button to set onto a conversation with the business account. However, having set the items to buy, customers can use the Add to Cart button to place an order for the product in a way of messaging the business with the details to be delivered.
1. Open the WhatsApp Application
2. Open the Business Profile with whom you would like to proceed further on viewing and ordering products
3. Tap the Shopping button right next to the business name mentioned above
4. Access the catalog of items you would prefer
5. Select the item and tap 'Add to Cart'
You may goto the Cart and edit items selected or further add items to the cart before checkout by tapping the Add More option. There are other options as edit the quantity of items to order.
6. Further once updated and verified, you can send the items of the cart to the seller as a WhatsApp message by tapping the send icon.
Once the order has been sent, the items can be checked by following the View Cart button as the order would be final only after the seller confirms.
Such has not only eased out the way customers can interact with a business into placing an order of the items, but also allow businesses to manage their multiple orders in a single message. The new feature has been globally rolled out for the businesses as well as the users to take over successful implementation as an addition to the shopping and catalog options introduced previously on November, 2019.
Along with these features, WhatsApp Business has also rolled out a new sticker for businesses in a cart theme as - 'Open for Business' sticker pack. WhatsApp business has included these latest updates which elevates the demand for WhatsApp to be used apart from being used as a simple messaging application, providing a facility for the small businesses to cater the needs of customers and reach out more with ease.
